The room everyone
wants to be in.
helo.land Growth gathers founders, investors and operators online and in person. The standard for being in the room is the same in both: be the version of yourself that makes other people glad they came.
1. Who this applies to
Everyone present at any helo.land Growth event — speakers, attendees, partners, staff and contractors. Online Sessions, the Summit, Roundtables and Labs included.
2. What we expect
- Respect the people in the room. Listen well. Disagree on substance, not on identity.
- Speak with care. No harassment, no slurs, no comments on appearance, no jokes at anyone's expense.
- Honour confidentiality. Many conversations on stage and over lunch are candid. Chatham House rules apply to all roundtables and to off-the-record remarks; ask before you quote.
- No selling from the floor. The room is for ideas, introductions and honest exchange. Sponsorship and outreach happens through the right channels (write to hey@helo.land).
- Treat the venue as your own. No damage, no excess. Be kind to the staff at Kolektif House and anywhere else we gather.
3. What we will not tolerate
- Harassment, intimidation, threats — verbal, written, or physical — including via chat in online Sessions.
- Discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability, nationality, age or appearance.
- Unwelcome attention, advances or contact.
- Recording or photographing other attendees without their consent.
- Publishing private conversations or contact details without permission.
- Sustained disruption of the programme.
4. Reporting
If you experience or witness behaviour that does not belong in a helo.land room, tell us. You can:
- Speak to any member of the helo.land team on site (we wear visible badges).
- Write to hey@helo.land.
- Use the same email after the event; we read every message.
Reports are handled discreetly. We will not share your identity beyond the few people we need to involve.
At the Summit and at in-person Sessions, look for a helo.land badge. If something feels off, you do not need to explain yourself — say "I need a word" and we will step away with you.
5. Consequences
Depending on the situation, action may include a private word, a warning, removal from the event without refund, or being asked not to return to future helo.land events. Severe cases may be reported to relevant authorities. We reserve the right to make a judgement call in the moment and to explain it after.
6. For speakers, panellists and moderators
You set the tone. Stay on time, share the floor, do not use the stage to attack individuals, and treat moderators' calls as final. If you have concerns about another panellist before going on stage, raise them with the helo.land producer ahead of time.
7. For partners and sponsors
The same code applies. Partnership does not exempt anyone from this conduct. Activations are agreed in writing — anything not agreed is not part of the room.
8. Acknowledgements
This code borrows from established community standards (Berlin Code of Conduct, Contributor Covenant) and the operating norms helo.land has built since 2018. We will keep updating it as we learn.
9. Contact
